The 'Sport' version of the MALOSSI 210cc kit received an update in 2016 and is officially known as the 'Sport 2016'. This slightly revised set-up now includes a special outer surface coating which leads to an improved cooling of the whole cylinder. Another novelty is found in the replacement of the ASSO piston for one produced by VERTEX, with special graphite surfacing. The graphite coating ensures a reduction in overall friction and also serves as a form of 'emergency coating' in case of heat-seizure or similar. Compared to the 10% heavier ASSO piston the Vertex has a shorter piston skirt, eliminating the need for extra modifications when fitting the kit in combination with a long-stroke crankshaft. The inclusion of a long-stroke type crankshaft complements the performance of this kit perfectly. The pistons port windows are also larger, better matching the existing channels. The transfer port dimensioning and port timings remain identical to those found on its predecessor, the 'Sport 2013' kit. When combined with a long-stroke crankshaft the port timings can be altered slightly, to affect the performance characteristics of this kit, with the use of the included compensatory gasket spacers. The inclusion of the cylinder base gasket spacers raises the maximum rpm and when using the cylinder head gasket spacers instead the total available torque is increased.

The motor casings do not require prior modification to run this cylinder, although to realise the full potential of this kit it is recommended!
